In 2016, Bank of East Asia (BEA) sold Tricor to Permira for HK$6.47 billion (US$835 million). In 2022, Permira sold Tricor to Baring Private Equity Asia (BPEA) for US$2.76 billion (HK$21.53 billion).

In 2023, Tricor completed its merger with Vistra, one of the world’s leading fund and corporate service providers. This powerhouse of over 9,000 professionals in 50+ jurisdictions offers unrivalled quality, scale, and breadth of capabilities to help its clients navigate the increasing complexities of establishing, managing, operating, and growing their businesses around the world. The merged entity, headquartered in Hong Kong, continues to be owned by BPEA EQT, the Asian private equity arm of EQT, a purpose-driven global investment organisation in active ownership strategies.
